NATHAN KOCI wrote The Implications of Silence for accordion, flute, and violin and it’s played by Nate, Domenica and Hu. He has this to say about his piece For most of the planning process Jean had the title of my piece listed as "Implications of Science", while I had titled it "Implications of Silence". I never said anything because I had a hunch that her version was a better title. Be that as it may, I was mulling the idea that silences, while technically identical in their non-sound-event-ness, can be very diverse and dynamic listening experiences depending on what surrounds them. Rehearsing this piece in NYC also means that silences are never really silent, so you know. Let's get Cage-y.
